The following Student Week of Prayer speakers will be leaving for SWOP Retreat from Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. through Sunday evening, January 4-7, 2018. They will share, bond, and prepare mentally and spiritually for Week of Prayer. This is a very important time for these students and for the adults who are mentoring them. Please keep them in your prayers:
The ordering of graduation announcements, accessories, and cap and gown, will take place on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 6-7 p.m. in the Library. Please bring your completed graduation announcement order form and payment back with you from Christmas break. The order forms were handed out to seniors last week and they will be bringing them home for completion.
COLLEGE PREP TIP FROM WALLA WALLA UNIVERSITY
There are two great things high school students can do to prepare for college over Christmas break: shadow a professional and apply for outside scholarships. For freshman through seniors, job shadowing is a great way to explore career options in an area of interest. Connect with someone in your church or a family friend and ask if you can follow them for a few hours and interview them about what they do. Also, consider applying for outside scholarships. Students who spend the extra time to apply for scholarships can get thousands of dollars in money toward college fees that they never have to pay back, in addition to what is provided by their school of choice. Here are a few great sites to get you started:
